Love and remembrance for our sweet friend and member Barbra Ellner, who recently passed away. A visitation for Barbra will be held Wednesday, March 4 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home at 12 noon, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. Our thoughts and prayers are with Drew and the entire family.
On Tuesday, March 10 at 6 p.m., First Presbyterian will have a Lenten Taizé Prayer Service. This special service will be an evening of contemplative prayer, singing, and Scripture readings. Emily Herring will be featured as cantor and soloist.
Also on March 11, following the Lenten devotion in the parlor, we will be walking the labyrinth in the church fellowship hall. This is a special spiritual pilgrimage/journey that brings one closer to God as one unpacks one's heart during the journey. Come and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit within you.
Lenten films will be shown each Sunday at 2 p.m. during the month of March. Below are the film titles and the locations where they will be shown.

... and greetings from the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Alabama.
We are a community of Christians with a rich heritage of faith in our powerful God. We have a history of caring for each other, for our community, and for missions both local and global. We are a small congregation, where individuals matter a lot. We are easy to get to know and we love to welcome new friends. While we are traditional in our style of worship, we also feel a stirring of the Holy Spriit in our midst and are eager to follow His leading to seek and to nurture all who need to power and love of God in their lives.
